11 February 2020 Dear Ms. Jane Aira Bustamante, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated 8 February 2020 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You requested information on the following: (1) Statistics/number of street children being taken from the streets by the DSWD from Laguna and CALABARZON (monthly/yearly) Response to your request Unfortunately, the DSWD does not have the information you need. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request. It is the Local Government Unit (LGU) that is directly involved in the rescuing of street children. Thus, it is the LGUs of Laguna and CALABARZON that may have the data you require. Additionally, the Juvenile Justice and Welfare Council (JJWC) may have the data you require. Under Republic Act 10630 (the “Juvenile Justice Welfare Act”), the JJWC oversees the implementation of the law. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the JJWC by submitting a request to them via this portal. You may also contact them by telephone at 921-0565 or via email at [email protected]. Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Secretary ROLANDO JOSELITO D.
