Hi! May I ask how many years Individual Census Data stay confidential. Many countries have already released their individual census data (not just statistics, but data including names, ages, marital status,etc.) i.e. the US which released their 1940 census last April 1, 2012.

Your Request
You asked for Individual census data release date.
Response to Request
Your FOI request is approved. We have forwarded your request to the concerned division and here's the response we received from them.
"Per Section 26 of RA 10625 (see below), access to census data is allowed after one hundred years for historical, genealogical, scientific or other research purposes. However, even so, the available census data files (computer data files) do not contain names, addresses and other text/alphabetic information. Data files contain only the numeric codes for variables such as age, sex, and others. In addition, the census questionnaires from the past censuses have been disposed of every 5 years (now 2 years) after the census, in accordance with the record disposition schedule"
Per Section 26 of RA 10625 (Confidentiality of Information. – Individual data furnished by a respondent to statistical inquiries, surveys and censuses of the PSA shall be considered privileged communication and as such shall be inadmissible as evidence in any proceeding),The PSA may release aggregated information from statistical inquiries, surveys and censuses in the form of summaries or statistical tables in which no reference to an individual, corporation, association, partnership, institution or business enterprise shall appear.
The National Statistician and all staff of the PSA shall take a solemn oath regarding confidentiality of information. However, confidentiality of information does not apply to:
(a) Information in the form of a list or index of individual business firms, establishments or organizations that contain any or all of the following information:
(1) The name, address and telephone numbers;
(2) The business and products that they are engaged in; and
(3) The specific ranges of number of employees.
(b) Microdata from statistical inquiries or survey form/questionnaire/schedule prepared by the PSA for purposes of research, with care to ensure that identities of a particular person, business or organization will not be disclosed in whatever form; and
(c) Access to census data after one hundred (100) years for historical, genealogical, scientific or other research purposes.
