Good day po! Ask ko lang po kung included po ba ang wireless modems na issue ng telco(globe) sa devices na pwede pong i-unlock ng telco(globe)? They stated sa messenger na hindi po daw available iunlock yung modem.

January 24, 2023 Dear Sir: Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Jan 23, 2023 10:10:15 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your Request You asked for Globe Modem Unlocking Question. Response to Request Your FOI request is approved. Relative to your query, may we inform you that based on the previous response of the Regulation Branch of this Commission with that query, wireless modems are devices that can be unlocked by TELCOS subject to the certain provision under Memorandum Circular No. 01-05-2019 Your right to request a review If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to: THE COMMISSIONER [email protected] NTC Bldg., East Triangle, Diliman, Quezon City Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response, and should be made within 15 calendar days from the date when you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within 30 calendar days from the date when we receive your review request. If you are not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011). Thank you. Good day! I messaged globe upon receiving the letter from ntc, but they said it is only available on mobile devices. Here's our partial conversation with June Ramos a Globe Care Specialist. "Hi, Jeremy! This is Jun. I’m a live Globe Care Specialist. The unlocking of modem of Home Prepaid Wi-Fi is not applicable to Globe Telecom. The NTC may have issued a memorandum but Globe Telecom has not yet notified those with Home Prepaid Wi-Fi. This is only applicable to mobile Globe Postpaid/ Globe Prepaid and Globe business accounts. Thank you very much for understanding." "We understand you wish to unlock your prepaid wifi modem, in reference to the NTC Memorandum. As of now, it is only available to our mobile postpaid and mobile prepaid devices. But no worries, we are currently in the unlocking process for other types of devices such as the Home Prepaid WiFi and will comply with the mandate by its effectivity date.
