Good day, Ma’am/Sir. I would like to request a financial assistance as I tested positive for covid 19 which results to delay my employment as a seafarer. I was about to work overseas last 6th of January 2022, unfortunately I was tested positive for covid 19 and for this reason, my flight was cancelled and it delays my employment. Hoping for your kind consideration in this matter. Thank you so much.

January 27, 2022 Dear Mr. John Carlo Martal, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Jan 25, 2022 05:15:51 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for financial assistance for OFWs infected by COVID-19. Mr. Martal the OWWA Verification System shows that you applied for DOLE-AKAP on November 28, 2020 and the financial benefit was released to you by DOLE Regional Office IVA on 01/08/2021. Records further show that your OWWA membership expired in May 2021. There is NO RECORD that you have a new employment record currently processed by any manning agency with POEA otherwise, it is the Manning Agency that is held responsible for your quarantine expenses/assistance. Hence, we suggest you work closely with your LGU for livelihood and medical assistance. And contact your Manning Agency. If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac at email: [email protected]. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request. However, if you are still not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011). Thank you.
