26 January 2021 Dear Mr. Justine De La Cruz, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated 25 January 2021 under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your request You requested information on the following data on PWDs in Legaspi City, Albay for your research/thesis proposal: (1) Population and Rate; (2) Age, Gender and Sex; (3) Family size, Income and Educational Attainment; and (4) Classification of person with disability in Legazpi City, Albay. Response to your request Unfortunately, the DSWD does not have the information you need. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request. Pursuant to Presidential Decree 1509, as amended, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) is the national government agency mandated to formulate policies and coordinate the activities of all agencies, whether public or private, concerning disability issues and concerns. They may have your requested data. Hence, you also may wish to direct your request to the NCDA. You may contact them by telephone at 932-6422 or via email at [email protected]. Further, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) might also have the data you require. Under Republic Act 10625 (the “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013”), the PSA is the government agency responsible for preparing and conducting periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry and other sectors of the economy.
