Your request You requested information on the following data from 2015 – 2020 for a feasibility study for assisted living and independent living facility: (1) Number of cases or percentage of elderly abuse in the Philippines; (2) Number of accredited or established nursing homes and assisted living facilities in the country; (3) Number of elderly that are in the nursing homes; (4) Number of elderly in CALABARZON area; and (5) Number of nursing home and assisted living facility in CALABARZON area. Response to your request Unfortunately, the DSWD has only complete data for number (2) and (5) of your request. For number (3) and number (4), we only have data with respect to those elderly under our centers and institutions. Thus, the DSWD can only partially grant your request and we shall refer your request with respect to this matter to the proper DSWD offices. For number (1) and complete data for numbers (3) (4), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) may have the complete data you require. Under Republic Act 10625 (the “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013”), the PSA is the government agency responsible for preparing and conducting periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry and other sectors of the economy. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PSA by submitting a request to the PSA via this portal. You may also contact the PSA by telephone at 462-6600 locals 839, 833 and 834 or via email at [email protected]. Further, for number (1), the data might be available at the Philippine National Police (PNP) since people report crimes, including elderly abuse, to the PNP directly. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PNP by submitting a request to the PNP via this portal. You may contact them by telephone at 8723-0401. Finally, for number (4), since you are asking for information specific to the CALABARZON area, the provinces and municipalities of CALABARZON may also have the data you wish to obtain.
