Hi, good day! I have been following up with OWWA regarding my application for the DOLE-AKAP ASSISTANCE FOR OFW. I have arrived in the Philippines on July 8, 2020 and immediately applied for the assistance program. Up to this day, Oct 15, 2020, I have not received any update on the status of the said assistance. I have been laid off from my job and as of today still haven’t received any assistance due to us. I have emailed OWWA Administrator Hans Leo J. Candac ([email protected]) but no response has been provided. Kindly assist and help. Thank you.

October 16, 2020 Dear Mr. John Paul Gazmin, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Oct 15, 2020 06:47:44 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for an update of your DOLE-AKAP Application. OWWA records show that you applied online on July 12, 2020. Your application was evaluated and approved by OWWA Region 4A on October 15, 2020. You will be notified by email or phone for the next steps in claiming your benefit.. We do apologize for the delays in the processing of your DOLE-AKAP Application due to the large volume of applicants and poor internet connections. Moreover, we maintain procedure controls for fund releases coming from government to the partner Money Transfers for disbursement of the special financial assistance for the OFWs repatriated due to the COVID 19 pandemic. If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac at email: [email protected]. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request.
