Infectious Diseases acquired at work may be considered as work-related or compensable. However, the benefit is not automatic and shall be subjected to evaluation of pertinent documents required for EC claims as medical abstract detailing the contributory factors in the development of the disease, employment certificate or job description, records of pre-employment and results of annual physical examination, make-up of the workplace, and other relevant documents that may prove that the condition was acquired by the worker in the performance of his/her job or was increased by the working conditions prevailing at the time prior to contracting the condition.
