Hi good day! I would like to request the list of blacklisted American citizens who are banned to visit the Philippines. Otherwise, I am in need of confirmation if the person named [REDACTED NAME], [REDACTED ADDRESS] if he is banned here in the Philippines. He was involved in a robbery in 2017 in his state. I need to know if he is on the blacklist and how long he has to wait for him to visit the Philipines. I am looking forward to the help of your good office for the verification of my simple request. Response to your request While our aim is to provide information whenever possible, in this instance we would deny your request in compliance to Data Privacy Act 2012 (R.A. 10173), comprehensive and strict privacy legislation “to protect the fundamental human right of privacy, of communication while ensuring free flow of information to promote innovation and growth.” Derogatory record consist of personal information of the data owner. Thus, it can only be issued personally to the owner of data, with Special Power of Attorney if to the duly authorized representative or court order because it is protected under the R.A. 10173.
