This Department
Dear FOI Officer:
Greetings of peace and good health!
I am writing to your office to formally express my request of obtaining sets of data relating to the implementation of the Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP) for S.Y 2020-2021 as DepEd’s initiative to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.
As part of the continuous seeking for professional growth and development, I enrolled myself in Data Analyst Courses through SPARTA (Smarter Philippines Through Data Analytics Research and Development (R&D), Training and Adoption) scholarship grant spearheaded by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) to train Data Science and Analytics graduates of this program.
The final capstone of my enrolled pathway challenges us —learners, to present the Philippine situation during the pandemic in one of the three areas such as healthcare system, business impact, and education. Thus, the capstone requires us to propose a dashboard that will provide a snapshot of information about the situation of our country during the pandemic with our chosen areas of focus. Production of a concept paper which illustrates the rationale of the dashboard is also part of the expected tasks. Being part of the Department of Education, I wish to explore more through utilizing the data available in our department.
It is with great hope that you’ll provide me with the following sets of data within the period of School Year 2020-2021:
1. No. of schools per division that used the specific learning modality:
a. Distance Learning (per type)
a.1 Modular DL
a.2. Online DL
a.3. TVBI/RBI
a.4. Blended DL
b. Blended Learning (per type)
b.1. ODL, MDL & TVI/RBI
b.2. MDL & TVI/RBI
b.3. ODL & TVI/RBI
b.4. MDL & ODL
c. Homeschooling
2. No. of released SLMs per grade level
3. No. and type of released ICT resources with corresponding recipient regions
4. No. of teachers Mobile Data Assistance through DepEd SIM
5. No. of teacher-broadcasters per region, No. reported canned productions & list of official partner channels nationwide
6. No. of enrolees, graduates, and completers for each learning modality per division
By putting up the data you’ll provide me in a dashboard, it will highlight appreciation to the department’s effort in relevantly responding to the pandemic situation through the implementation of the BE-LCP emphasizing the various learning delivery modes in support to providing quality education through Sulong Edukalidad advocacy.
I look forward to creating spaces for data utilization and mobilization to attract possible support from the community stakeholders.
My apology for I cannot attach a jpeg file format to this platform to attach my ID.
Thank you for granting this request with ticket number #DepEd-041780465196.
Respectfully yours,
