Your request You requested information on the following for thesis purposes for academic research for the years 2000 - 2021: Data on children with disabilities (CWD) aged 0 to 14 years old: 1) No. of CWD in the country (total & not per region or city, pls) 2) No. of CWD in low-income households 3) No. of CWD according to types of disability (e.g., physical disab, sensorimotor disab, autism, intellectual disab) 4) No. of CWD in: a) SPED schools (public&private) b) inclusive or mainstream schools (pub&priv) c) in foster/adoptive homes or institutions 5) No. of CWD who are: a) abandoned b) neglected c) abused 6) No. of CWD who seek services Response to your request Unfortunately, the DSWD does not have the information you need. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request. It is the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) that may have the data you require. Under Republic Act 10625 (the “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013”), the PSA is the government agency responsible for preparing and conducting periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry and other sectors of the economy. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PSA by submitting a request to the PSA via this portal. You may also contact the PSA by telephone at 462-6600 locals 839, 833 and 834 or via email at [email protected]. Further, pursuant to Presidential Decree 1509, as amended, the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) is the national government agency mandated to formulate policies and coordinate the activities of all agencies, whether public or private, concerning disability issues and concerns. For number (4), CWD enrollment data is with the Department of Education. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the DepEd by submitting a request to them via this portal.
