26 February 2019 Dear Mr. Marbella: You requested for information on “(1) Number of street children in NCR, (2) Number of abused street children in NCR, (3) Types of abuse and maltreatment received by the street children (ex. physical abuse), (4) Number of abused street children according to the type of maltreatment, and (5) Percentages of abused street children by gender.” Unfortunately, the DSWD does not have the information you need. Thus, we are constrained to deny your request. For statistics on street children, you may wish to consider addressing your request to the local government units (LGUs) concerned, i.e., the cities and municipality in the National Capital Region. Also, for crimes such as abuse and maltreatment of street children, the Philippine National Police (PNP) may have the data you need. Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PNP by submitting a request via this eFOI portal. Alternatively, you may try to contact the PNP by telephone at 723-0401. Very truly yours, Carlo Florendo C. Castro FOI Decision Maker
