Good day! I would like to know if OWWA in Dubai is still disbursing monetary assistance to filipinos who are and were covid positive. Or have they stopped? I had covid almost 2 weeks ago and I sent the needed documents when I got my result. Until now, nobody contacted me. Same case for my sister, she was positive with covid, sent the needed reqs to owwa, and no calls from them until now. Thank you

March 31, 2021 Dear Ms. Nonette abigail Luna, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated Mar 28, 2021 09:33:04 PM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for an inquiry on the financial assistance provided by OWWA to OFWs in Dubai amidst the COVID-19. The OWWA continues to provide both medical and financial assistance to Overseas Filipinos affected by the world-wide COVID-19 Pandemic. However, the documents submitted undergo a process of verification and validation. If you are an active documented OFW (meaning your Overseas employment is valid), then your hospitalization and medical expenses are shouldered by the employer as per your POEA Approved Employment Contract. On the other hand, those who are undocumented OFW, it is the Assistance to Nationals (ATN) of the Philippine Embassy/Consular Office who shall provide the financial assistance. Contact the POLO or the ATN through their website or social platform to clarify the details of the financial assistance. If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac at email: [email protected]. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request. However, if you are still not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011). Thank you.
