Greetings!
Thank you for your request dated Oct 30, 2021 08:23:49 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch for financial assistance for non-active OFWs who tested positive with COVID-19.
OWWA Verification System shows that you applied online on April 26, 2020 and DOLE-AKAP benefits was released by DOLE Region VII on 11/11/2020 which you have received.
Additional financial assistance must be requested to the local government unit (Barangay, municipality/city or province) if you are qualified. Your status as an OFW is non-active, hence, you are no longer entitled to benefits given to active OFWs whose source of income was affected by the world-wide health pandemic.
You may visit the websites of DOLE, OWWA, DTI and DSWD for offers of livelihood program.
If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac at email: [email protected]. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request.
However, if you are still not satisfied with the result of the review, you then have the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
