Your request
You requested for information on the following: (1) Rate of children separated from their families; (2) Rate of children with disabilities separated from their families; (3) Rate of children in residential care; (4) Rate of children aged 0–2 in residential care; (5) Percentage of children with disabilities in public residential care; (6) Percentage of children placed in foster care out of the total number of children separated from their families; (7) Percentage of children with disabilities placed in foster care out of the total number of children 0–17 placed in foster care.
Response to your request
The DSWD only has information on numbers (3), (4), (5), (6) and (7), but not on numbers (1) and (2).
Thus, we shall partially grant your request and we shall refer your request with respect to this matter to the proper DSWD office.
Under Republic Act 10625 (the “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013”), the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) is the government agency responsible for preparing and conducting periodic censuses on population, housing, agriculture, fisheries, business, industry and other sectors of the economy. The PSA may have the complete data you need for numbers (1) and (2). Hence, you may wish to direct your request to the PSA by submitting a request to the PSA via this portal. The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) may also have the data you require. Pursuant to Presidential Decree 1509, as amended, the NCDA is the national government agency mandated to formulate policies and coordinate the activities of all agencies, whether public or private, concerning disability issues and concerns.
