Mr. Sayon the OWWA do not issue a certificate of unemployment. If you are applying for financial assistance for programs of DOLE and OWWA, the copy of your employment contract or OEC issued by POEA will suffice since it indicates the employment period. Kindly take note that requests of OFWs from DOLE and OWWA particularly for financial assistance during the world-wide health pandemic must provide proof that their loss of employment is COVID-19 related. Otherwise, you have to coordinate with your local government unit (barangay, city, municipality or province) for support to your concerns. If you are unhappy with this response to your FOI request, you may ask us to carry out an internal review of the response by writing to Administrator Hans Leo J. Cacdac at email: [email protected]. Your review request should explain why you are dissatisfied with this response and should be made within FIFTEEN (15) calendar days from the date you received this letter. We will complete the review and tell you the result within THIRTY (30) calendar days from the date we received your review request.
