June 18, 2020 Dear DC Alviar, Greetings! Thank you for your request dated May 15, 2020 11:31:26 AM under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch. Your Request You asked for the following information: (1) What funding support did Brgy. Maharlika receive from provincial/city gov'ts? How much, if any? (2) What were the sources of income of Maharlika from the exercise of its taxing and other revenue-raising powers? (3) Were there conflicts or tax issues that occurred between the Barangay and San Pedro City? (4) Did Maharlika enter a loan agreement with any institution? How much, if any? (5) How much net IRA was allocated to the Barangay in 2019-2020 and what population count of it was pegged in those years? (6) Were the Maharlika officials compensated in 2018 to 2020? Copies of such docus, pls Response to Request Based on your request, item numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6 cannot be answered by this Office. However, may respectfully give information on the IRA for Barangay Maharlika, San Pedro City, Laguna. The barangay was created through Republic Act No. 11295, which is approved on April 17, 2019. Considering the IRA for FY 2019 was already released by the time the law is approved, we are not in the position to recompute the FY 2019 IRA to include the newly created LGUs under the aforesaid law. Meanwhile, the IRA portion for the barangay was P6,075,967.00 for FY 2020. The population base was certified by the Philippine Statistics Authority based on 2015 Census since the next census is scheduled on FY 2020. Thank you. Respectfully, Rainier Diaz FOI Receiving Officer
