I am Athena M. Villagonzalo, a 3rd year law student at the Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.
For my thesis, I am proposing the criminalization of authoring, publication, and dissemination of fake news through online platforms on the proposition that fake news is an unprotected form of speech.
In this regard, may I request information on the number of persons arrested for violation of (1) Article 154 of the Revised Penal Code in relation to the Cybercrime Prevention Act and (2) Section 6 (f) of the Bayanihan to Heal As One Act (R.A. No. 11469).
Thank you.
