Greetings in St. La Salle!
I am Lou Brad N. De Nobili, a student of De La Salle University, currently taking up a double degree program of Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and Bachelor of Arts major in History. I am writing this letter as a follow up on my previous request for DepEd data on the annual total number of public school enrollees per LGU (city, municipality, province) from the years 2010 to 2019. The said information would be helpful for our undergraduate thesis focusing on the effect of LGU non-financial demographic and economic characteristics to Local Government Unit financial performance. Our thesis aims to look into the drivers of LGU financial performance and to identify possible ways to improve local government program development. Since the local governments are concerned with the area of education more specifically because a portion of their local budgets are tied up with the Special Education Fund (SEF), our thesis group found it relevant to consider the number of public school enrollees as a proxy for LGU-supported youth education. The public school enrollees can be further specified as primary and secondary level students.
