Dear eFOI user,

This refers to your request, which we received from the Electronic Freedom of Information (eFOI) portal on 26 September 2024, concerning the statistics on the beneficiaries of free housing in the Philippines, specifically those affected by urban demolition or natural calamities from January 2020 to 2024.

Relative thereto, based on the information from the National Housing Authority (NHA), attached agency to the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development and in charge for resettlement programs, the attached available information is hereby released exclusively for purpose related to your research.

Please note that the number of housing units provided in the said table also corresponds to the number of beneficiaries of the program. The NHA’s Yolanda Permanent Housing Program is a form of housing assistance for calamity victims. It was the only “free” housing granted for the period through a Presidential Proclamation by President Rodrigo R. Duterte.

If you are dissatisfied with our response to your FOI request, you have the option to request an internal review. To initiate this process, kindly submit your written appeal for review addressed to Atty. Randy B. Escolango, Ph.D., Undersecretary for Administrative and Finance Services at DHSUD Building, Mayaman St, Kalayaan Ave, Diliman, Quezon City, Metro Manila or email at records @dhsud.gov.ph.
