Good day, I am a 5th year architecture student. As part of my undergraduate thesis on healthcare facility design, I am conducting research on operational flows and spatial planning of hospitals. I would like to formally request permission to conduct a site visit at Philippine General HOspital to familiarize myself with its operational workflows, spatial layout, and patient movement patterns. If permitted, I would appreciate guidance on the appropriate schedule, protocols, and any necessary requirements to facilitate this visit. Thank you for your request made under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

We have received your request for Site Visit in UP-PGH.

Prior to our endorsement of your request to the concerned department,  there are certain procedures being implemented in PGH that you need to undertake for research purposes.   Since PGH is under UP Manila, research protocols and data gathering procedures that are currently implemented in UP Manila are also being observed in PGH.  

We would like to first recommend seeking endorsement from the UP Manila Research Ethics Board.  It can be accessed online through the UPMREB website (reb.upm.edu.ph).  Subsequently, you need to register to the Research Grants Administration Office (RGAO) via online. Once appropriate clearances have been obtained, the PGH Expanded Hospital Research Office (EHRO) will issue a permit for the request to proceed.  

For clarification and other inquiries pertaining to the conduct of research in PGH, the EHRO can be reached at telephone number 8554-8400 local 2064.  Its office is located on the second floor of UP PGH.
