Number of neuro-related illlnesses and related injuries patients in Philippine General Hospital in Taft Ave, Manila, and St. Lukes Medical Center in E. Rodriguez, Q.C. from 2010 to 2023 2. Number of in-patients and outpatients in PGH and St. Lukes Medical Center from 2010 to 2023 (same locations as above) 3. Number of CALABARZON residing patients in PGH and St. Lukes Medical Center from 2010 to 2023 (same locations as above) 4. Dear Mr. Ocampo,

Good day.  Prior to our endorsement of your request to the concerned department,  there are certain procedures being implemented in PGH that you need to undertake.   Since PGH is under UP Manila, data gathering procedures that are currently implemented in UP Manila are also being observed in PGH.  

We would like to first recommend seeking endorsement from the UP Manila Research Ethics Board.  It can be accessed online through the UPMREB website (reb.upm.edu.ph).  Subsequently, you need to register to the Research Grants Administration Office (RGAO) via online. Once appropriate clearances have been obtained, the PGH Expanded Hospital Research Office (EHRO) will issue a permit for the request to proceed.  

For clarification and other inquiries pertaining to the conduct of research in PGH, the EHRO can be reached at telephone number 8554-8400 local 2064.  Its office is located on the second floor of UP PGH.

Hello, thank you for this. I would like to have an update. I would like to inform you that I have submitted my research with RGO reference number: RGAO-2024-1834. Attached is the certificate that has granted me the number. No further instructions from the UPMREB have been assigned to me regarding this. I would like to ask if there is anything I can do, or if the RGAO is enough for an appropriate clearance. Please advise, thank you so much.

Dear Ms. Ocampo,

Good day. Please be informed that the reference number that you received is just for the UPMREB ethical clearance application. You still need to apply for the ethical clearance itself at the UPMREB website. We respectfully suggest coordinating with Ms. Mitch Alba of the Expanded Hospital Research Office (EHRO) at phone number 8554-8400 for more information on securing research clearance. The said office will be the issuing your final go signal once you have completed the requirements.
