Hi! There are growing numbers of Bachelor of Engineering Technology major in Construction Engineering Technology / Civil Engineering Technology graduates in our country. Most of them are working in an engineering-related field. Unfortunately, some opportunities are being taken away from us due to lack of PRC License. I would like inquire if how soon can Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology graduates can take their own board exam?

Thank you for your request dated Feb. 2, 2025, made under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.

Please be informed that professional regulatory laws are enacted to regulate the

registration, licensure, and practice of professionals with licenses issued by the

Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).

At present, there is no existing law governing the practice of Bachelor of Engineering

Technology major in Construction Engineering Technology / Civil Engineering Technology

graduates. As such, the PRC cannot conduct a national licensure examination for these

graduates without an enabling law.

We appreciate your concern and encourage stakeholders to work with policymakers and

relevant professional organizations to advocate for legislative measures that may address

this matter.
