We are conducting a capstone project titled "AI-driven rice (palay) recommendation system for optimal planting window in the Philippines."
This research focuses on the rice crop sector in the Philippines, aiming to leverage data-driven technologies to enhance yield optimization through effective planning and management strategies.
To support our research, we are seeking datasets related to irrigation systems. We need data segmented by barangay, city/municipality, or region, ideally covering 20 years for historical data. A minimum of 10 years is acceptable if 20 years isn't available.
Parameters Required:
1. Irrigation Infrastructure
- Locations and capacities of irrigation systems (e.g., dams, canals, pumping stations, etc.)
- Types of irrigation systems in use (e.g., gravity-fed, drip, sprinkler)
2. Water Availability
- Seasonal water availability for irrigation
- Historical water levels in reservoirs, rivers, and aquifers
- Water allocation schedules and records
3. Irrigation Efficiency
- Efficiency rates of existing irrigation systems
- Data on water losses due to seepage, evaporation, and distribution inefficiencies.
Preferred Formats: Excel, CSV, GIS-compatible formats (Shapefiles, GeoTIFF, KML/KMZ), JSON, Parquet, HDF5

Good Day!
This pertains to your request for the data on NIA Irrigation Systems and other relative information needed for your Research Study.
Please be informed that the requested data is very large, as it was assumed that you are requesting for the nationwide data considering there's no specific location stated thereto.
Moreover, this Office only has the Inventory of Irrigation Systems which only contains data on service area, irrigated, farmer beneficiaries and water sources, among others. The Central Office has no available data for the water availability and irrigation efficiency, as it is only available in/and can be provided by our Regional Offices.
Other option would be, to specify a Region or Municipality, and we shall forward your concern to our Regional Office counterparts for appropriate action. However, the 10-year data may not be available.
