You have inquired on DOST-FPRDI's fire tests for construction materials. I am pleased to inform you that your FOI request has been approved.
The DOST-FPRDI offers fire testing services, specifically the ignitability and combustibility tests. According to our OneLab, the ignitability test is based on ISO 11925-2 “Reaction to Fire Tests- Ignitability of Products subject to Direct Impingement of flame—Part 2: Single flame source test”. Samples for this test are usually for wall application. Testing fee per sample is P1,831.00
Meanwhile, the combustibility test uses ASTM E 69 standard “Combustible Properties of Treated Wood by Fire-Tube Test Apparatus”. Samples for this test are fire-retardant treated, while testing fee is P1,308.00 per sample.
