Hi! I am a 4th year student from Polytechnic University of the Philippines. I would like to request a list of SMEs/Local businesses around Sta. Mesa, Manila. This information or data will be a great help for our thesis.

While our primary objective is to provide information whenever possible, we regret to inform you that the requested information is not available at this Office.
Please be advised that business registration falls under the jurisdiction of the Business Permits and Licensing Office of the Local Government Unit (LGU) where the business is located. Hence, you may direct your inquiries/requests about such matters to the concerned LGU.
The DTI only handles business name (BN) registration, which is a prerequisite for business registration. Please note that a BN Registration does not constitute a license to operate any kind of business, nor does it guarantee the legitimacy of the business.
However, if you're still interested to proceed with your request for the list of BUSINESS NAMES, please reply to this email and provide the following information for us to process your request:

Kindly be advised that we can only provide the following information in accordance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012:
We would also like to inform you that we can only provide data of BNs registered within the past five years, as a business name's validity period is five years from its registration date. You may also provide keywords (for example, “WATER REFILLING STATION”) or specify the industry classification. This information will be used to filter the list and generate a BN listing that is tailored to your specific request.
Likewise, the DTI only registers business names for sole proprietorships. One-person corporations, partnerships, and corporations are registered with the Securities and Exchange Commissions.
Lastly, please take note of the prescribed fees for BN listing per Department Administrative Order 18-07, Annex E, Schedule of Fees, Section C:
First Five Pages - Php 20.00
Succeeding page(s) - Php 3.00 per page

We humbly request a copy of the list of Small and medium-sized enterprises in the Food and Beverage industry located in Sta. Mesa, Manila, for the years 2015 to 2024. All documents provided by your office will be greatly appreciated and will be used solely for educational purposes. We are also willing to pay any applicable fees as advised.

We have received your request on List of SMEs or Local businesses around Sta. Mesa, Manila, dated Jan. 7, 2025. 
While our primary objective is to provide information whenever possible, we regret to inform you that the requested information is not available at this Office. 

Please be informed that "registered business" is different from "registered Business Name".  All we can provide is the number of registered Business Names for sole proprietorship.
Also, DTI Business Name registration is not a permit or license to engage in any type of business since the permit to operate is issued by the Business Permit and Licensing Office of the concerned LGU.
Thus, if you are looking for the actual number and details/list of operating businesses, you may inquire with the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) of the concerned LGU since they are the ones who issue a business permit to operate.
