"Good day. This email pertains to the FOI request from the DOTr Rail Comms and DOTr FOI Receiving Officer, with tracking number DOTr-843698259771, received by the Philippine Railways Institute (PRI) on November 7, 2024. In response to your request for a copy of the latest related issuances regarding the qualifications for the issuance of the Train Driver’s ID, please find attached the following documents:

For your convenience, the relevant sections are highlighted below:

The qualifications and requirements for the Train Driver's ID are as follows:
Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old;
• Preferably with 2 years of work experience in operations or maintenance of electromechanical components of the railway system;
• Underwent and completed the following training:
  • Fundamental Training Course with a minimum of 320 hours; and
  • Systems Training Course conducted by the railway operator training facility or independent training center. 
• Underwent and passed all the required examinations:
  • Medical examinations, details discussed in Annex B of DOTr DO No. 2020-005;
  • Aptitude test relevant to train drivers as specified by the PRI;
  • Written examinations; and
  • Practical examinations.
    
• Accomplished Application Form, template follows Annex H of PRI Circular No. 1, 2022;
• Recent passport-size ID picture;
• Certificate of Competency for the Fundamental Training Course;
• Certificate of Systems Training Course from the Railway Operator;
• Medical Certificate issued not more than 6 months prior to application, template follows Annex G of PRI Circular No. 1, 2022;
• Results of the aptitude test from a PRI-authorized service provider
