Good day, May I ask guidance n (physical) reporting of safety officer in the establishment with hybrid work-from-home setup. Currently, our company provides an alternative working arrangement where the employees are offered a work-from-home setup and are only required to report physically to our office five (5) times a month. The physical reporting to the office will depend on the employee's department. On a regular basis, only a small percentage of employees will be present in our office on a daily basis. With this, may I ask if the company's safety officer is required to report physically to our office every time employees (or a percentage thereof) will report to othe ffice? Dear Mariano Halog III,

This refers to your request under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information (FOI) in the Executive Branch with respect to the physical reporting of Safety Officer at establishment with hybrid work-from-home set-up.

Under DOLE Department Order No. 198, series of 2018, the Safety Officer must be physically present when employees are in the workplace to ensure compliance with OSH standards. The frequency of reporting may align with the company’s setup, provided that workplace safety is effectively managed.
