Purpose: academic research | data journalism story
Tracking no: #DOJ-954852165903
We are sophomore Bachelor of Arts in Journalism students at the Polytechnic University of the Philippines College of Communication, and we are currently working on a data journalism story as part of our academic requirement. The story will focus on the stories and lived experience of women inside the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City. We aim to uncover the challenges they face, highlight their personal stories, and give them a platform to share their voices and experiences behind bars. With this, we seek relevant data and information from your agency/organization for an accurate and factual analysis. In particular, we seek to obtain the following: From 2014 - 2024 1. Case Status: - Current legal standing (awaiting trial, convicted, or on appeal). - Information on any pending motions, legal challenges, or appeals 2. Crime Committed: - Type of crime(s) committed (e.g., theft, drug-related offenses, violent crimes). 3. Date of Conviction: - The exact date or year of conviction and sentencing. 4. Confinement to Commence: - Date of incarceration or beginning of the sentence. 5. Length of Penalty: - The length of the prison sentence or period of confinement. - Information on parole eligibility or sentence reduction programs. 6. Lawyer: - Whether the inmate has legal representation (public defender, private lawyer, or self-represented). - These data will significantly contribute to our article's accuracy, depth, and quality. We assure you that everything will be used solely for academic purposes and properly credited to your organization. Thank you for your consideration. Should you have any clarifications, please do not hesitate to contact Karyl Rael at [email protected] or 09673487455.
