You have requested the wards, semi-private, private rooms
Below is the response from the DOH Health Facility Development Bureau (HFDB) to your requested information on the following Hospital Standard Ratio/percentage/distribution of allocating bed capacities for wards, semi-private and private rooms
- The Universal Health Care (UHC) Act or RA 11223's Implementing Rules and Regulations Section 29 on Bed Capacity of Hospitals includes the following provisions specifically on charity beds/ward allocation: 29.5 Government general hospitals, regardless of size and level, are required to operate not less than ninety percent (90%) of their authorized bed capacity as basic or ward accommodation. 29.6 Specialty hospitals, either single-specialty or multi-specialty government hospitals as designated by the DOH, are required to operate not less than seventy percent (70%) of their authorized bed capacity as basic or ward accommodation. 29.7 Private hospitals, are required to operate not less than ten percent (10%) of their authorized bed capacity as basic or ward accommodation.
These provisions are also aligned with the existing regulatory rules for licensing of health facilities conducted by the Health Facilities and Services Regulatory Bureau (HFSRB).
