I am pleased to inform you that your FOI request has been approved. Below is the response of the DOH Health Facility Development Bureau on the List of agencies that offer financial assistance to dialysis patients .
Government agencies that provide financial assistance to dialysis patients include the following:
- Philhealth: The primary funding source. Philhealth has increased the number of covered hemodialysis sessions from 90 to 156 a year, equivalent to three sessions per week for 52 weeks. Philhealth also covers Continuous Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) which requires daily solutions
2. Malasakit Centers: Present in all DOH hospitals and the
Philippine General Hospital, these centers can assist with
other medications; and 3. Department of Social Welfare
and Development (DSWD): Provides additional financial
support for patients.
