Dear eFOI user,
Thank you for your request dated Aug. 15, 2024, made under Executive Order No. 2 (s. 2016) on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
You have requested the Number of Rice Millers.
This is to acknowledge your request through FOI re rice millers in the Philippines. However, we regret to inform you that the information you are requesting cannot be provided by our agency since the National Food Authority already ceased its regulatory functions since RA 11203 (An Act Liberalizing the Importation, Exportation and Trading of Rice, Lifting for the Purpose the Quantitative Import Restriction on Rice, and For Other Purposes) was signed by then Pres. Rodrigo Duterte in 2019.
Local government units and the Department of Trade and Industry are now the agencies that give rice millers the proper permits to operate thus it is these agencies that have the data that you are requesting.
Thank you.
