You have inquired about Cold Storage Facilities.
In line with your research, please note that different agencies handle cold storage depending on the commodity:
- For meat and pork products, the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) and the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) are responsible.
- For plant and crop products, the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) manages cold storage.
- For fishery products, the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) handles cold storage.
To obtain the relevant records or understand the processes involved, we kindly suggest reaching out directly to these respective agencies.
In relation to layout and floor plans, we can refer our inquiry with the Bureau of Agricultural and Fisheries Engineering (BAFE) or Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PhilMech).
Your right to request a review
If you are dissatisfied with our response to your FOI request, you have the option to request an internal review. To initiate this process, kindly submit your written appeal for review addressed to Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr. Please provide a detailed explanation of your dissatisfaction with our response within 15 calendar days from the date of receiving this response. We will conduct the review and communicate the outcome within 30 calendar days from the receipt of your review request.
Should you remain unsatisfied with the review outcome, you retain the right to appeal to the Office of the President under Administrative Order No. 22 (s. 2011).
