Greetings! Ma'am/Sir My name is John Axel Orencia, a BS Biology Student of Southern Luzon State University. I sent an email to your institution upon a recommendation to consult your office regarding our concerns. We initially successfully identified trees with the help and advice of experts from botanists and tree experts through the Facebook group of Cos Digital Flora of the Philippines through the PHOTOS of the leaves, bark texture, tree standing, and habits we provided. Most of the trees are common, for it to be easy to verify such as: Coconut, Lucban, Mango, Avocado, Lipote, Lanzones, Kamagong, Narra,Rarang, Banilad Lamog, Dita, Panguringon, Kalantas, Madre Cacao, Hauili, African Tulip Tree, Antipolo We are willing to pay for the service and we just need certification from valid experts/office to certify our findings on tree names. We will send the pictures once contacted. Thank you!

The Crop Research and Production Support Division of the Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) issues certificates on the identification, authentication, and verification of FOOD AGRICULTURAL CROPS based on available data/ resources – FREE OF CHARGE, via online or onsite.

Documents required (Onsite):

  1. Request letter addressed to the BPI Director, Gerald Glenn F. Panganiban, PhD indicating the purpose of identification and certification (Original + 1 copy)

(FOR STUDENTS - IN SCHOOL’S LETTERHEAD, SIGNED BY THE STUDENT AND ADVISER)

  1. Clear, colored printed photo of plant/specimen in a coupon bond (2 COPIES)
  2. Actual Plant/Specimen (complete parts of the plant as possible)
  3. Duly filled out Application form. (Available at the CRPSD Office)

Our office is open M-F/ 8AM-5PM (except holidays). Processing usually takes 3-5 working days. CRPSD may send the Certificate of Identification to the requesting party.

FYI, Universities/ Colleges with Plant taxonomists, botanists (Biology or Agriculture) departments in your region or FEU, UST UPD also conduct plant ID.
