Purpose: Payment and Employment History
Tracking no: #BIR-506762303253
Hi, I would like to request for certified true copies of my 2316 from the year I started working in 2006. Thank you so much.
Dear Ms. Depala:
Mabuhay!
Thank you for utilizing the eFOI portal (www.foi.gov.ph) and exercising your right to information under Executive Order No. 2, s. 2016 on Freedom of Information in the Executive Branch.
This refers to your Freedom of Information (FOI) Request with Tracking Number #BIR-506762303253 , requesting for a copy of your Income Tax Return and/or BIR Form No. 2316 for Calendar Year(s) 2006.
We called your landline number today, September 11 and apprised you that your request for a copy/copies of your BIR Form No. 2316 for the Calendar Year 2006 cannot be granted/provided by the Revenue District Office (RDO) because the records of the RDO on those periods are already unavailable since we follow strictly the four (4) year retention period based on existing revenue issuances of the BIR (Revenue Memorandum Circular 73-2008).
Hence, you may ask your previous employer/s for the copy/copies of your BIR Form 2316 because all taxpayers are required to preserve their accounting records for the period of 10 years in accordance with the Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 29-2019.
For additional support, we encourage you to consult the FAQ section of the eFOI site: https://www.foi.gov.ph/help.
