San Nicolas (I.N.) Water District was created on May 19, 1982 through a resolution passed by the Sangguniang Bayan of San Nicolas. Following its formation, SNWD acquired the ownership and management of the entire system in accordance with P.D. 198 (Provincial Water Utilities Act of 1973). LWUA awarded its Conditional Certificate of COnformance No. 207 to the water district on August 6, 1982 after it has complied with the minimum requirements for the certification program with the following mandates: (a)Acquiring, installing, improving, maintaining, and operating water supply and distribution system for domestic, industrial, and agricultural uses for residents and lands within the boundaries of such districts; (b)Conducting such other functions and operations incidental to water resource development, utilization and disposal with such districts, as and necessary or incidental to said purpose.
