City Government of Isabela

Isabela, is the de facto capital and the commercial center of the Province of Basilan. Composed of 45 barangays distributed across rolling hills and verdant islands, it offers a scenic home for its diverse peoples and is recognized for its strategic location, providing a gateway to the Sulu Archipelago and an easy access to the heart of Basilan. As a component city, Isabela City is geographically and politically part of Basilan, however, administratively it is part of Zamboanga Peninsula. Isabela officially became a city in 2001, initially classified as a 5th Class city. It progressed to 4th Class in 2008 and reached 3rd Class status in 2025, marking significant growth and development over the years.
